Prospect Hill offers NDIS-funded short-term respite (Short Term Accommodation — STA) across Newcastle and the wider Hunter region. Our Hunter operation has been delivering NDIS supports for over a decade and respite is one of the most common services we provide.

How NDIS respite works in Newcastle

Respite is funded through STA, capped at 28 days per year. Most stays are:

• Planned respite — booked weeks in advance for family breaks, weekends, carer recovery
• Emergency respite — short-notice support for unplanned situations (carer illness, family crisis)
• SIL trial — a few nights in a SIL home (we have homes across the Hunter) to see if it suits
• Hospital discharge bridging — when acute care is finished but home isn't ready
